-Susan Shoemaker, Chief Compliance Officer and Investment Advisor
Bright. Dedicated. Principled.
Susan Shoemaker, Chief Compliance Officer and Investment Advisor, manages business the way she manages life—by focusing on the best interests of those individuals who place their trust in her. In doing so, she’s able to deliver for her clients on a number of levels.
She’s more than an investment advisor.
Susan is a financial advocate for clients. She oversees her client’s portfolios with concern and respect, sharing resources and understanding to help clients navigate any questions or issues that may arise. She is available to assist in opening the lines of communication between client’s lawyers, accountants and advisors so the client enjoys a unified approach to their financial well-being. Susan’s ability to anchor her clients to success is a result of her experience in the industry.
Susan’s career began in New York City with Salomon Brothers, Inc. where she worked as an institutional salesperson of structured fixed income products. While working on Wall Street, she earned her Juris Doctorate at New York Law School evening division.
She relocated to Northeastern Pennsylvania after her marriage and joined Fleet Securities and PNC Bank before becoming Vice President at BNY Mellon Wealth Management. She managed a significant client portfolio, an administrative team at BNY Mellon, while maintaining an outstanding client retention rate.
Her commitment transcends work.
Susan received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, with a concentration in finance, from Villanova University. Susan is the President of the Parents Association at Wyoming Seminary, Treasurer of the Maple Hill Cemetery Association, and serves on the Advisory Commission of the Sordoni Art Gallery. She is a member of Circle 200, a forum for senior executive women in Northeaster Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Leadership Wilkes-Barre.
Susan has held many leadership positions to advance the community where she lives and works including: Chair, Leadership Wilkes Barre, Chair, Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, Vice President, Luzerne County Historical Society, Vice President, Habitat for Humanity, Finance Committee, St. Ignatius Loyola , Religious Education Teacher, St. Ignatius Loyola Church, Religious Education Advisory Committee, St. Ignatius Loyola Church, Called to Holiness Action Committee, Diocese of Scranton, President of Parents Association, Apple Tree/Susquehanna Prep, and Co-Chair – NBLT Annual Dinner.
Susan enjoys spending time with her family at home in NEPA or in New York City where two of her three children live. She also enjoys being part of the crew for my husband in the sailing races at Harvey’s Lake Yacht Club; expanding her cooking repertoire with recipes from new cuisines (Indian is her latest); playing Mahjong, gardening, pickleball, researching topics for the literary club, and walking her dogs.
